Solinst 103 Tag Line

The Solinst 103 Tag Line is a cable designed for use during the installation of monitoring wells as well as in the deployment of pumps, bailers, samplers and packers as a measured safety support line. It consists of a detachable weight and a durable, polyethylene-coated, stainless steel cable.

The cable is resistant to twisting, bending, and warping, allowing it to be lowered into wells and retrieved smoothly, with a swivel that ensures the cable can untangle itself. The polyethylene coating on the Solinst Tag Line protects the cable from fraying and ensures that it is safe to use without the need for gloves. The reel is also laser marked every 5cm to enable accurate measurement of depth and includes a lock to prevent the cable from unravelling and lowering further than intended.

The Tag Line is mounted on a sturdy free-standing reel with a carrying handle for portability. A tape guide is also included and can be placed over the top of well casings to protect the cable from damage caused by rough edges. The tape guide can also assist with lowering the cable smoothly and increase the accuracy of measurements.

The optional stainless steel tag weight is 19mm in diameter and 0.68kg in weight, with tapered ends to minimise hang-ups during deployment and return to the surface. The weight can be used to measure the depth of a well and measure infill. These tag weights can be clipped on and off the cable, allowing the reel-mounted marked cable to be used with various pumps and sensors such as the Low Flow Sampling Bladder Pump and the LevelSCOUT Level and Temperature Sensor.
