Narda 5G FR2 Antenna
Narda 5G Downconverter Antennas for omnidirectional and directional measurements of fields and their sources in the frequency range 24.5GHz to 29.5GHz
Narda 5G FR2 Antenna Overview
The Narda 5G FR2 Downconverter Antenna allows users to extend the frequency range of the SRM-3006 Selective Radiation Meter to frequencies from 25.25 GHz to 29.5GHz. The 5G FR2 Antennas show reliable measurements of human and environmental field exposure for compliance with the EMF limits in frequency range FR2 of the 5G NR mobile radio signal.
Two LNB (Low-Noise Block) downconverter antenna models are available: a directional antenna with high sensitivity and an omnidirectional antenna.
Model 3591/01 is a directional antenna designed for the measurement of weak signals such as those inside a building. Model 3591/02 is an omnidirectional antenna for outdoor environmental measurements.
Both antennas include a downconverter that converts millimetre wave band from 24.5Ghz to 29.5Ghz into the SRM-3006’s receive band.
This means the RF cable between the antenna and the basic unit only transmits frequencies up to a maximum of 6GHz which greatly reduces the cable loss compared to a 20 GHz cable.
Stand-out features of the LNB antennas include:
- Built-in Battery which is independent of the basic unit- By having a built-in battery on the antennas, the runtime of the SRM-3006 is not affected by the operation of the antennas. The battery can be charged via a USB-C socket. Long-term measurements can also be conducted when connected to a USB power bank.
- The downconverter is integrated into the antenna – It can be used with all SRM-3006 devices without any hardware modifications. Only a firmware update is required, which can easily be done by the user by downloading the firmware update from the Narda Safety Test Solutions’ website.
