MATinspired TK20 Chromium-6 Neutraliser

The MATinspired Chromium-6 Neutraliser is a liquid that can be sprayed or applied with a cloth to remove surface contamination of hexavalent chromium (Chromium-6) on metal surfaces.

Small parts such as nuts and bolts can also be immersed in the liquid to remove the contamination. It is developed to be used in conjunction with the MATinspired TK11 Chromium-6 Detection Test Kit. After cleaning with the Chromium-6 Neutraliser, the Chromium-6 Test Kit can be used to determine if the contamination has been successfully removed.

Chromium-6 or hexavalent chromium compounds can be found on heated chromium-containing steel such as stainless steel. It can be identified by a white/green dusty layer on the metal. These compounds are toxic and must be removed before any maintenance is conducted.

How Does it Work?

When theTK20 Chromium-6 Neutraliser liquid is applied to the metal-containing the contamination, the chromium-6 present will be converted to non-toxic chromium-3. This is known as a reduction reaction.

Please note –

• The neutraliser cannot be used to remove airborne chromium-6 particles.
• The neutraliser cannot be used for paint layers
• The TK20 Chromium-6 Neutraliser only works on machine parts that have been cooled down.
