Air-Met Scientific was established in 1984 out of a need in the market for reliable OHS and environmental monitoring solutions. Founded by John Garnet out of his home in Doncaster, Melbourne, John started his business by selling “Air Meteorological” products by SKC which was coined into the name of our company – “Air-Met”.
Since our humble beginnings in John’s home, we moved a couple of offices before forming our headquarters here in Nunawading, Melbourne 25 years ago. By this time Air-Met’s team had grown from 10 to 60 and branched out offices in six locations in Australia. We also have a wider leadership team namely Simon Meers, Air-Met’s Managing Director, Mark Norris, the General Manager of Operations and Peter Shiels, the General Manager for Technical Sales and Product Development.
Proudly Australian owned and operated, Air-Met Scientific is a leader in OHS and Environmental monitoring solutions. The AirMetER Series has been designed and manufactured right here in our Melbourne head office by our knowledgeable in-house engineering team to provide solutions for environmental monitoring, dust and particulate monitoring.
The products in this range have been Australian Made certified and display proudly display the iconic green and gold Australian made logo.

Today, Air-Met Scientific is 60 people strong with six offices all over Australia but rooted in Victoria. Our passion for customer service and support is reflected in all facets of our business. Our dedicated sales team ensures our customers are equipped with the right instrumentation for their job. Our experienced service teams are the silent guarantee behind the quality of all products supplied by providing NATA accredited calibrations, equipment maintenance and on-site service support and our rental team are trusted by environmental consultants and professionals all over Australia to supply the right product for individual business needs.
