New DMP Regulation Changes in WA
In December 2017, the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Resources Safety in Western Australia introduced a triage process in the Department's Safety Regulation System (SRS). The aim of this process was to assist in identifying those exceedances requiring further action by the mining operation as it was found that personal protective equipment (PPE) is often used a temporary control strategy.
This new process will take the form of a declaration covering five aspects in noise exposures and atmospheric contaminants. You can read more about these aspects by clicking the button below:
If an individual responds “no” to any of the declaration questions, then an investigation is required and must be submitted to the Department. As a business, you can avoid these investigations by ensuring staff are trained, knowledgeable and protected from noise and atmospheric contaminants.
At Air-Met Scientific we provide a range of protective instruments that can ensure your workplace is safe for all staff. These instruments will also reduce the likelihood of an investigation by the Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety Resources Safety in Western Australia. Listed below are a range of instruments that may assist your organisation in the protection of your employee's health and safety.
