New Cub Software and Firmware Released

New PC Software and Firmware released for the Cub Personal VOC Detector

ION Science has released Cub PC software and firmware featuring several enhancements

The Cub Personal VOC detector is a lightweight PID for the accurate detection of volatile organic compounds. It is recommended by ION Science to upgrade the PC software and firmware for the Cub Personal VOC Detector the latest versions to ensure you are up to date.

The new Cub software and firmware introduce several enhancements, improving the performance of the instrument in significant ways. Some of these upgrades include the optimisation of the battery life cycle and the improvement of the unit’s datalogging capacity and efficiency.

You can upgrade to the Cub PC Software V0.0.0.53 and Cub Firmware V0.0.88 via your existing Cub PC software.

Cub PC Software V0.0.0.53

• Added function for the Cub to only log data when an alarm level is triggered. Requires Cub firmware version 0.0.88 or later
• Cub PC accepts calibration values with decimal places
• Archive Cubs from CubPC list
• Extracted csv for concentration-exceeded data logs collated into a single session
• Extracted csv for concentration-exceeded data logs to display how many times trigger value is exceeded
• CubPC to list dates chronologically
• Cub graph data summary – ‘minimum value’ date and time
• New gas table selection during start-up
• Configuration screen to display gas name and RF

Cub Firmware V0.0.88

• Cub data logging option – start log when concentration exceeds user-defined value
• Optimised battery charging algorithm to protect battery and increase number of charging cycles
• Added new error code E-11, when Cub stops charging if internal temperature exceeds 45°C
