AirMetER-DX Dust Monitor Finds Success on International Shores

Lane Xang Minerals Ltd, an open-pit gold and copper mine in Lao has recently purchased three AirMetER-DX real-time dust monitors with remote connection accessories for remote dust monitoring and recording of PM 2.5 and PM10 particles of silica dust. Shane Langdon, Environment Senior Superintendent at Lane Xang Minerals Ltd was happy with the performance of the AirMetER-DX as the software application was suitable for their requirements of continuous remote dust monitoring with a stable equipment recording. They also found the reporting platform user friendly, and the data provided easy to understand.

Lane Xang Minerals was looking to continuously monitor air quality controls to ensure there is a minimal health risk to communities residing close to the mine site. As a company committed to responsible and environmentally friendly mining practices, MMG Lane Xang Minerals Ltd works with the best quality products available in the market to monitor and identify potential exposure of air contaminants to employees and the community.

The AirMetER-DX is an economical and low-maintenance dual-fraction dust monitor which uses optical particle counter method to dynamically count and size airborne particulates in real-time. It can simultaneously monitor and record PM2.5 and PM10 dust fractions and supports OTA (Over The Air) gravimetric correction. Designed for remote outdoor monitoring, the AirMetER-DX can seamlessly integrate with the Air-Met Scientific’s cloud-based data portal to provide customisable SMS and email alerts on your desktop app or a smart device. It is an invaluable resource for larger area monitoring projects and other air quality monitoring applications.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THE AirMetER-DX

Vilayluck Onphanmany is the Supervisor of Occupational Hygiene at Lane Xang Minerals and was responsible for setting up the three units and remotely monitoring the area for potential silica dust hazards. With the main unit weighing only 7kg, Vilayluck explains that they found it easy to move the device “to other sites when needed for temporary monitoring” and was fairly uncomplicated to use. Fast technical support provided by Air-Met’s experienced in-house engineers also allowed Vilayluck to ensure the AirMetER-DX received minimum downtime and provided ease of setup despite the geographical distance. Vilayluck found the engineering team were prompt in responding to a support request and generous in sharing knowledge to assist him with using the AirMetER-DX units.
